Every winter, Niagara Falls transforms into something extraordinary. The Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights draws over a million visitors each season — and for good reason. Eight kilometres of illuminated displays stretch along the Niagara Parkway and Dufferin Islands, featuring dozens of animated light sculptures, international light features, and the incomparable sight of Horseshoe Falls glowing in the cold winter air. Visiting on your own means driving in circles, missing the best viewpoints, and fighting for parking. Our guided tour puts you in the front row for the highlights — warm, relaxed, and stress-free.
Festival Dates: The Winter Festival of Lights runs annually from November 15 through January 4. Book early — spots fill fast in December, especially around the holiday weekends.
We collect you from your hotel as the sun goes down and the winter chill sets in. Your guide will brief you on the evening ahead while you travel warm and comfortable to the festival grounds. Dress in layers — it's magical out there, and you'll want to linger.
The centrepiece of the Winter Festival is Dufferin Islands — a small chain of interconnected islands carpeted with animated light sculptures, themed display zones, and the kind of quiet, enchanted atmosphere that the main tourist strip can't offer. We walk the illuminated path together, stopping at the most photogenic displays and giving you time to take it all in at your own pace.
Standing at the brink of Horseshoe Falls in winter is a completely different experience to summer. Ice builds up along the banks, mist freezes into crystals on the railings, and the coloured illumination beams refract through the icy air into something truly otherworldly. Your guide will find you the best vantage point for photos and give you space to soak it in.
We cruise the full 8-kilometre festival route along the Niagara Parkway, with your guide narrating the displays and pointing out the best street-side sculptures. This is the section most visitors miss — the festival extends well beyond Dufferin Islands, and seeing it from the warmth of the vehicle with expert commentary makes it something special.
The winter season transforms Clifton Hill into a festive market with seasonal food, hot drinks, holiday shops, and a lively atmosphere. We drop you here for 30 minutes of free time to explore, warm up, and pick up a souvenir before the journey back.
A warm, comfortable ride back after a magical evening. The perfect Niagara winter experience — no parking, no crowds, no stress.
Throughout the festival season, Niagara Falls hosts fireworks displays on select holiday dates — including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. If your tour falls on one of these nights, you'll witness the falls illuminated with fireworks exploding over the gorge in the winter sky. Let us know your dates and we'll confirm whether fireworks are scheduled on your evening.
